In his article "Whatever Happened to the Term Alpha Wolf” he describes how being alpha in wolves relates to dominance and pack structure. This article gives you food for thought why using Dominance Techniques are not useful.The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) Position Statement on Punishment and Dominance discusses the use of punishment and dominance in working with dogs.AVSAB also has a Position Statement on Puppy Socialization. Puppies should begin socialization and training at an early age. Studies show that puppies that begin socializing and training at a very early age are more well behaved.
