K9Logix is dedicated to enhancing the human-animal relationship by resolving or successfully managing companion animal behavior problems by combining the science of animal behavior and the art of dog training. Techniques used are innovative, fun and humane for pets in the real world.

Sharon Wirant
, owner of K9Logix, has trained dogs successfully in agility, obedience, flyball, and shelter dogs for nearly 20 years. Sharon ‘s interest in dog behavior and learning led her to earn her Master’s degree from Smith College specializing in animal behavior, specifically canine behavior. She is one of 60 professionals to hold the unique and distinctive certificationas an Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (ACAAB: www.certifiedanimalbehaviorist.com) with the Animal Behavior Society. Certification by the Animal Behavior Society demonstrates that Sharon meets the Society’s educational, experiential and ethical criteria as an applied animal behaviorist.

In addition to being an ACAAB, Sharon is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge and Skills Assessed, Certified Behavior Consultant Canine - Knowledge Assessed, Karen Pryor Academy - Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP),Certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Certified SAFER® Assessor, and a Certified Masters Level judge for the United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA).















In addition to providing private consulting and coaching services, Sharon is an Independent Contractor with the ASPCA where she facilitates the SAFER® Aggression Assessment and Canine-ality® tools to organizations around the country and assists the Forensic Behavior Team in providing behavioral evaluations on animals seized from puppy mill, fighting dog and hoarding cases. In 2008, Sharon was a member of the ASPCA team assessing Pit Bulls, Rottweilers and their respective mixes for the US Marine Corps in Parris Island, SC and in Newburgh, NY. The goal of the team was to keep families and their pets together despite the breed ban placed on military base housing. Read Sharon's CV for detailed information.

Sharon is a member of the Animal Behavior Society (ABS), Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), International Society for Applied Ethologists (ISAE) and an Associate member of the International Association for Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC).

Outside of educational and career pursuits, Sharon trains and competes in agility and herding. She regularly trains with top handlers, trainers and behaviorists (see Sharon’s list of Continuing Education here). Her dogs have been Grand Prix finalists, named to the USDAA Top 10 numerous times, and earned top agility, obedience and flyball titles.

Sharon and her husband share their lives with a flock of sheep and six dogs: Darla, Tinq and Killick (Jack Russell Terriers), Scooter (MHS Alum – Border Collie-x), Zesty (Border Collie) and Remi, a rescue Papillion from a behavior client.
