Behavior Consults

Most behavioral problems can be resolved or reduced significantly through behavior modification and training.  The methods Sharon uses are scientifically proven and are applied in a no-force, humane manner.  The goal is to enhance the human-animal relationship.  Sharon will provide one-on-one coaching to help you resolve or significantly reduce the problem behavior.  Management, rehoming, and/or euthanasia will be discussed, depending upon the severity of the behavior.

Sharon can provide counseling on the following common behavioral problems:

  • aggression toward people or other animals
  • fearfulness
  • household destruction
  • toileting inside the house or outside the litterbox
  • anxiety while home alone
  • excessive barking
  • unruly behavior
What happens during a consult?

An appointment will take between 1.5 - 2 hours.  During this time a detailed behavioral history and evaluation will occur to derive a diagnosis and develop an appropriate treatment plan.  The treatment plan will be discussed and demonstrated.   A behavioral report will then be mailed to you and your veterinarian.  The cost of the initial consultation is $175.

Telephone and/or email follow-up and support will be provided for up to three months following the initial consult at no charge.

Depending upon the severity of the problem, additional appointments may be necessary to facilitate the entire treatment plan, which will be charged an additional hourly fee.

Mileage at .505/mile (round trip) will be applied to all in-home consultations outside Cheshire County, New Hampshire.
